What does Athalia smell like?
Athalia belongs to Parfums de Marly’s feminine line and stands out for hushed elegance rather than sweetness. The opening is unusual: a light, dry, luminous incense meets bitter orange for a start that is both fresh and resinous. The heart puts iris at the centre (powdery, cool, with its carrot-and-butter facets) softened by an orange blossom that adds sunny warmth. Cashmeran contributes a downy, musky-wood texture. A base of musk, amber and vanilla extends the impression of soft, clean skin. It smells of refined cosmetics, rice powder and silk, with a trace of smoke that keeps it from being too demure.
