What does Candy smell like?
Daniela Andrier composed Candy for Prada in 2011 with an almost provocatively simple structure. Rather than stacking notes, she built the scent on three pillars: caramel, benzoin and musk. The opening is immediately golden, a smooth, buttery caramel wrapped in powdery musks that stop it from turning sticky. In the heart, benzoin (a balsamic resin with vanilla and cinnamon facets) takes over, supported by a touch of honey. The base adds vanilla and extends the interplay of resin and musk into a warm, soft, surprisingly elegant trail. Candy stands out for that contrast: a confectionery theme handled with near-minimalist precision, avoiding the candyfloss feel of many gourmands.
When to wear it
Best in cold weather, for a date or an evening out; it suits gourmand lovers who prefer caramel over strawberry.
