What does Nisean smell like?
Released in 2016 and named after an ancient horse breed, Nisean belongs to the most opulent vein of Parfums de Marly. The opening is surprisingly lively: pink pepper, lime and grapefruit, tart and fizzy. The heart shifts register as leathery saffron and resinous labdanum wrap around spiced rose and geranium, in an almost liqueur-like texture. Patchouli, amber and cedar in the base lay down a dark, woody warmth that lasts. That contrast between fresh opening and oriental heart gives Nisean an interesting momentum, far from purely sweet orientals. Hours later, only a dry glow of resin and wood remains.
When to wear it
Wear it in the evening in autumn and winter. It suits lovers of saffron and resins, men and women alike.
