What does Hamdani smell like?
Hamdani takes its name from a strain of Arabian horse, and the scent looks squarely towards resinous Eastern perfumery. From the opening, incense and myrrh set the tone: dry, balsamic smoke, slightly lemony from the incense, more bitter and medicinal from the myrrh. The heart adds warmth with smoky guaiac, golden honey and sharp, spicy clove. The base is a pile-up of dark materials (leather, styrax, papyrus, tobacco, benzoin and sandalwood) melting into an ambery, velvety, almost syrupy texture. It suggests an old church where someone poured honey over the censer coals. Dense, yes, but the honey makes it more approachable than many austere incense scents.
When to wear it
In cold weather, for an evening or special occasion; it delights lovers of resin, incense and leather.
