What does Akaster smell like?
Released in 2015, Akaster is one of the lesser-known Parfums de Marly scents, far from the gourmands that made the house famous. Its composition is tightly edited. The opening pairs cypress and lemon for a resinous, aromatic freshness that evokes Mediterranean hills. The heart combines rose and geranium, a slightly minty floral duo that adds light. The base sets down a tamed oud, surrounded by musk and cardamom that lend it a cool, spiced touch. The whole plays on the balance between green freshness and dark wood, with a restraint unusual among oud perfumes. It is a legible, elegant woody scent that is easy to wear.
