What does Molecule 01 smell like?
Launched in 2006 by Geza Schoen, Molecule 01 rests on a radical concept: presenting a single raw material, Iso E Super, a synthetic wood used in countless modern perfumes. The listed notes (cedar, vetiver, amber, sandalwood, cashmeran) really describe the facets of that one molecule. On skin it suggests dry, polished cedar, a diffuse ambery warmth and a velvety softness, sometimes with a faintly peppery or mineral edge. The effect is peculiar: many wearers barely smell it on themselves while people around them do. That halo quality, more than the smell itself, explains its success. There is no pyramid to speak of; it stays linear and steady, like a second skin.
