What does Gypsy Water smell like?
Gypsy Water, released in 2008 and composed by Jérôme Epinette, is one of the scents that built Byredo’s identity. Bergamot and lemon open over a bright pepper that tingles the nose, giving an entrance that is luminous yet slightly rough. The heart blends resinous green pine needles with smoky incense and a powdery iris that softens the whole. Then the base turns tender: milky sandalwood, discreet vanilla and amber form a warm, almost cottony layer. It suggests earth after rain, woods and smoke, without ever feeling heavy. On skin it hovers between cologne and woody musk, a quiet, lived-in warmth.
