What does Interlude Man smell like?
Launched by Amouage in 2012 and composed by Pierre Negrin, Interlude Man is one of the Omani house’s most intense fragrances. It opens unexpectedly on oregano, a hot dry herb, backed by pepper and a bergamot that struggles to brighten the scene. The heart is pure smoke: incense, opoponax, amber and labdanum create a thick, balsamic atmosphere of burning resins. Oud, leather, sandalwood and patchouli add an animalic, woody depth that seems never to fade. It suggests a wood fire inside a church, a swinging censer, smoke that soaks into clothes. Nothing about it is consensual; this is a scent of character.
When to wear it
For winter evenings and grand occasions, one spray is enough. It suits lovers of incense and very powerful smoky scents.
