What does Jazz smell like?
Jazz arrived at Yves Saint Laurent in 1988, its bottle striped black and white like piano keys. It is an aromatic fougère more refined than brutal, typical of late-1980s masculine elegance. The opening is herbal and fresh, led by bitter artemisia, bergamot and neroli. At the heart, carnation adds a spicy clove note, while rose and geranium bring a floral, slightly minty touch. Sandalwood, oakmoss and tonka bean form a base that is woody, earthy and gently sweet at once. It evokes a sharp suit and a smoky music club, with a softness that tempers its character.
