What does L'Impératrice smell like?
L’Impératrice was launched in 2009 as part of Dolce & Gabbana’s Anthology collection, whose scents were inspired by tarot cards. The opening is almost watery in its freshness: juicy watermelon, tangy green kiwi and pink cyclamen adding a transparent floral note. The heart carries the cyclamen forward with jasmine and a clean musk, forming a light bouquet that smells more like fruit-infused water than petals. The musk, sandalwood and cedar base stays dry and discreet, avoiding a candy effect. It is simple, immediate and openly summery, with a light acidity that makes it livelier than most sweet fruity scents. You recognise it from the first spray.
When to wear it
In summer, on holiday or by day; it suits women who like fresh, cheerful fruity scents.
