What does Light Blue smell like?
Olivier Cresp composed Light Blue for Dolce & Gabbana in 2001, and it quickly became shorthand for an Italian summer, later tied to its sun-drenched Capri imagery. The opening is direct: a tart, almost crunchy green apple lifted by a floral bluebell and a cedar that immediately suggests pale wood. The heart (light jasmine, pale rose and a green, watery bamboo) stays transparent, as if diluted in sea air. The base brings cedar back with clean musk and soft amber, and that dry, luminous finish is the scent’s real personality, like driftwood warmed by the sun. It is simple, legible and extremely effective in heat.
When to wear it
Spray it without a second thought in summer, on holiday or for everyday wear; it suits fans of fresh, low-sugar fruity scents.
