What does Acqua di Gio Absolu smell like?
Composed by Alberto Morillas and released in 2018, Acqua di Giò Absolu revisits Armani’s famous marine scent in a woodier, deeper version. The opening keeps the aquatic DNA: sea notes, bergamot, juicy pear and crisp apple for a fruity freshness. In the heart, lavender, rosemary and geranium add a darker aromatic dimension, close to a fougère. The base is the real novelty: woods, tonka bean, patchouli and ambery labdanum bring an unexpected resinous warmth for a marine fragrance. The result evokes the sea at dusk, when freshness mingles with the sun-warmed wood of a jetty.
When to wear it
Versatile for the office or evenings, especially from late spring to autumn. It suits Acqua di Giò loyalists who want more depth.
