What does Decadence smell like?
Unveiled in 2015 in an emerald-green bottle shaped like a handbag, Decadence marked a darker, more sophisticated turn for Marc Jacobs fragrances, until then associated with freshness. Annie Buzantian composed it. The opening pairs juicy plum, leathery saffron and powdery iris in a register that is rich and slightly mysterious from the outset. Iris returns at the heart, now supported by jasmine and rose, for a velvety floralcy. The base is distinctive: dry vetiver, woody papyrus and resinous liquidambar give an ambery, faintly smoky warmth. It evokes a velvet evening gown and a confidently nocturnal elegance.
When to wear it
For autumn and winter evenings, dinners and special occasions. It suits women who like sophisticated, slightly dark, powdery scents.
