What does Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait smell like?
Unveiled in 2017, the Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait is not simply a concentrated version of the eau de parfum: Francis Kurkdjian reworked the structure to give it more roundness and warmth. The opening pairs bitter almond, with a hint of marzipan, and leathery, luminous saffron. At the heart, Egyptian jasmine, more carnal than in the original, meets dry cedar. Ambergris, fir resin and musk create the signature crystalline aura, but with a thicker, sweeter texture. The result is more gourmand, darker and more enveloping than the eau de parfum, while keeping the mineral halo that made its name.
When to wear it
For evenings and special occasions, particularly in cold weather, with one or two sprays. It suits fans of the original who want more depth and warmth.
