What does Oud for Greatness smell like?
Launched in 2018 by Initio Parfums Privés, Oud for Greatness lives up to its name: oud placed front and centre, no detours. The opening pairs leathery, slightly metallic saffron with warm nutmeg and an aromatic lavender that adds unexpected freshness. Oud soon takes over: woody, smoky, faintly animalic, with the leathery, medicinal nuance that gives the material its personality. A base of earthy patchouli and musk extends the accord and softens it just enough. The structure is simple, almost linear, but the density is impressive and the trail very present. It is a scent of character for those who like straightforward oud rather than sweet or rosy versions.
