What does Bamboo smell like?
Launched in 2015, Gucci Bamboo offers an elegant, fairly classic take on white flowers aimed at the house’s modern woman. The opening sets sparkling bergamot against fresh lily of the valley and an already creamy ylang-ylang that hints at what follows. The heart is led by Casablanca lily (ample, peppery, subtly spicy) surrounded by tuberose and orange blossom that add buttery roundness. A base of sandalwood, musk and vanilla softens the bouquet into something almost milky. The name nods to bamboo as a symbol of flexibility and strength, but the scent doesn’t smell of the plant: it is a luminous, well-groomed floral that avoids the headiness of many white flowers by staying very clean.

Best by day, at the office or over lunch in spring and summer; it suits women who love refined white florals.
